Universal Pictures Revives Classic Character

Ten New Shorts Available Online

Classic cartoon character Woody Woodpecker is making a comeback with ten brand-new cartoons produced by Universal Pictures International and Universal 1440 Entertainment. The cartoons are available on various streaming platforms, including YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, and iTunes.

Woody Woodpecker, an anthropomorphic woodpecker, was created in 1940 by Walter Lantz and storyboard artist Ben "Bugs" Hardaway. The character has since become an iconic figure, starring in numerous cartoons, television shows, and feature films. Woody Woodpecker has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and Walter Lantz won an honorary Oscar for the character in 1979.

The new Woody Woodpecker cartoons feature the voice of Eric Bauza, Timothy Omundson, Graham Verchere, and Jordana Largy. The cartoons follow Woody on his misadventures as he tries to outsmart his nemesis Splinter the Cat.
