Giffey, the local minister for the economy and a member of the Social Democrats SPD was hit in an attack that took place in a berlin library
On March, 30th, a man hit a politician with a bag containing a liquid on the head and neck during a campaign event in Berlin's Steglitz-Zehlendorf district.
Giffey was taken to a nearby hospital and was later released, the Berlin police said.
A 50-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, police said.
Giffey is the SPD's candidate for mayor of Berlin in the September elections.
