Messi to Face Boyhood Club Newells Old Boys with Inter Miami

Miami, FL - Inter Miami CF has announced that it will host Argentine side Club Atlético Newells Old Boys for a preseason friendly match on Tuesday, December 19th, 2023 at DRV PNK Stadium.
The match will be the final preparation for Inter Miami before the start of the 2024 MLS season. It will also be a special occasion for Lionel Messi, who will face his boyhood club for the first time since joining Inter Miami in 2023.

Inter Miami has been training in Miami since December 5th and has played two preseason matches so far, defeating the Philadelphia Union 2-1 and drawing with the New England Revolution 1-1.
Newells Old Boys is one of the most successful clubs in Argentina, having won the Primera División 6 times and the Copa Libertadores once. The club is based in Rosario, Argentina, and is where Messi began his professional career.
The match between Inter Miami and Newells Old Boys is expected to be a sellout, so fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets early.
